Ponyo, ponyo, ponyo, fishy in the sea
tiny little fishy, who could you really be?
Ponyo, ponyo, ponyo, magic sets you free;
oh she's a little girl with a round tummy.

While watching the making of "Ponyo", the Little Girl was fascinated with the Ponyo puppets Noah Cyrus and Frankie Jonas were holding while doing the voices of Ponyo and SosukeI looked on line to see how much the puppets were and was floored at how expensive they were (I know, I know, imported items).  I wasn't about to pay $50 for a stuffed fishy-girl so I decided to make some puppets ( I got the idea from a craft blog.  I don't remember which one...sorry).  Ponyo and Sosuke came together pretty easily.  Ponyo's sister was a little tricky.

5 little ducks went out to play,
Over the hill and far away.
Mama duck said, "Quack, quack, quack!"
4 little ducks came waddling back.

This is another rhyme the Little Girl was obsessed with a few months back.  She tried to take her teacher's ducks home and threw a tantrum when she couldn't, so I made a set for her.  Originally, there were 5, but now there's only 4.  Where did the 5th duck go?  Quack, quack, quack...

Monkeys and Crocodile

5 little monkeys, swinging in a tree,
Teasing Mr. Crocodile,
"You can't catch me!"
Along comes Mr. Crocodile,
Quiet as can be.
SNAP!
4 little monkeys...

I made these finger puppets when the Little Girl was OBSESSED  with the song, "5 Little Monkeys."  It was tedious but fun making the little monkeys.  Originally, I was going to make the crocodile a puppet, too, but I was too tired of sewing so I just drew it on a piece of felt and cut it out.  The Little Girl loved them for about a week and then forgot about them.
